Abstracts can be submitted exclusively through the congress website www.congres-srats.ro, until the 15th of December 2017 – the deadline for abstract submission. Abstracts sent through other means will not be taken into consideration.
The submitted abstracts must be written exclusively in English.
The size of the abstract is limited to 2500 characters and must not contain images, tables or graphics. Within the title and the body text of the abstract, identifying details such as the names of authors or hospitals should not be mentioned, so that anonymous review can be done. Furthermore, the use of commercial drug names, brands and registered trademarks are strictly prohibited and no mention of pharmaceutical company names should be included in the abstract. Drugs should be referred to by the active substance or pharmacological designation. Abstract modification will be possible until the submission deadline. The submitted abstracts will adhere to the following structure: Title, Authors, Objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusions.
Rules regarding the authors
The maximum number of authors is limited to 6. The presenting author will not mandatory be the main author as well. The presenting author will receive abstract related information and must be registered as congress participant by 15 JAN 2018. Furthermore, it is not mandatory for the presenting author to be a SRATS member.
A “blind” selection process will be performed, taking into consideration the following criteria: originality, clinical usefulness, the importance of the paper in the field of arthroscopic surgery and the scientific structure of the paper (appropriate structure of the paper, stating a precise Objective, a clear and reproducible Methodology, concise description of the Results and a clear Conclusion supported by study results). The presenting author shall be notified regarding reviewer decision before 15 FEB 2018.
Submission of previously published or presented abstracts in other congresses is forbidden. The authors will be asked for consent regarding publication within the Abstract Volume.
The oral presentation will be held in English, after uploading the digital presentation on the Congress Platform (www.congres-srats.ro – after login), or in the areas indicated by the organizer (at least 3 days before the programmed time). The use of personal computers or tablets during presentation is not permitted.
The posters may be visualized during the congress in electronic format exclusively. The abstracts can be directly uploaded on the Congress Platform (http://www.congres-srats.ro – after login), for the Posters category. The abstracts rated as insufficient for the Oral presentation category may be included in the Posters category if the necessary criteria have been fulfilled.
Failure to follow any of the criteria stated above leads to exclusion of the abstract from the scientific program of the congress.
Within the peer review process, all submitted abstracts will be filtered through a dedicated Anti-Plagiarism software. In cases with potential plagiarism, if less than 30% of the original submission is plagiarized, a notification will be sent to the authors about the issues, to either rewrite the part, or cite the original author. The abstracts detected with more than 30% of the original submission as plagiarized, will be automatically rejected.
